KOHLER, Wis. - (November 18, 2011) - Kallista, a leading provider of decorative plumbing products, has introduced four new vessels sinks - Obidos, Trinidad, Coimbra, and Robert Kuo Wavelet. Each is a captivating combination of natural materials and sculptural design with great artistic presence while maintaining the supreme functionality and long-lasting craftsmanship for which Kallista is renowned. The designs include the Wavelet by well-known designer, Robert Kuo. Kuo has long been admired for his rare skills as a practitioner of ancient artistic techniques and for being on the cutting edge of avant-garde design.

The Obidos Bronze Vessel is named after the small hilltop town of Obidos, Portugal, which derives its name from the Latin term for citadel or fortified city and has long been admired as a living example of medieval architecture. A clean-lined elliptical shape, the Obidos vessel is on the smaller side at 15 ¾" x 10 7/8", making it the perfect choice for a powder room or a double master bath installation. Because of its simple, transitional design and its availability in either a traditional or white satin bronze finish, the Obidos is at home in both modern and more classically styled settings.

Named for the windswept Caribbean island, the Trinidad Bronze Vessel is an ample 20" x 13" rectangular basin. The Trinidad has a straightforward linear design that works beautifully with other neutral elements in the bathroom. It is also available in either a traditional or white satin bronze finish.

The Coimbra Bronze Vessel gets its moniker from a small city in Portugal that was one of the main centers of artistic influence during the 15th and 16th centuries. This vessel has a generous round bowl that measures 16 ½" across to provide users with plenty of space and minimal splash. What sets Coimbra apart is the exquisite detailing around the exterior; a raised relief which provides a tactile and artistic contrast with the smooth, polished interior. As with the Obidos, the Coimbra is available in either a traditional or white satin bronze finish.

The Robert Kuo Wavelet is a marvelous example of ancient skills being used to create a piece that is both of the moment and timeless. Wavelet is crafted using the traditional art of repoussé, an incredibly rare 8th century technique that has been perfected by Kuo through years of careful study and training. Repoussé involves the meticulous hand-hammering of a decorative relief onto sheet metal and results, as with the Wavelet, in a piece with a remarkable feel and an incomparable depth of character. This novel take on an ancient Asian practice has produced a piece that will surely be the artistic centerpiece of any bathroom space. Produced out of solid copper, the Wavelet's round shape has a 16" diameter and is ringed by horizontal fluting that catch and refract the light. Kuo's eponymous design has a rare and timeless allure that will coordinate beautifully with both transitional and traditional bathroom collections.
