KALLISTA® PRESENTS RANGE OF COLLECTIONS AT INSPIREDESIGN 2010
Kallista, a leading provider of luxury plumbing products, showcased some of its latest and most successful collections at INSPIREDESIGN 2010 in Las Vegas to emphasize its broad design scope and ability to meet the diverse needs of the luxury hotelier. The collections range from its exclusive designs by world-renowned designers Bill Sofield, Michael S Smith, Barbara Barry, Laura Kirar, as well as featuring collections from its in-house One™ collection and Hampstead® Collection.
Kallista’s sophisticated lines for the kitchen and bath represent 30 years of innovative design. Meticulously crafted from the finest materials and incorporating the very latest in engineering technology, Kallista provides a virtually limitless fashionable repertoire for the hospitality marketplace.
Unveiled in 2009, the Jeton Collection designed by internationally renowned architect and designer, Bill Sofield, is his first commercial plumbing endeavor. The collection includes a vanity with choice of two marble tops, wall- and deck-mounted basin sets and bath sets, thermostatic and pressure balance showering systems, wall- and deck-mounted handshowers, showerhead, undercounter basin, sconce, towel bar, towel ring, hook and toilet paper holder.
Sofield approached his plumbing designs as he approaches any project -- incorporating aesthetic appeal with straightforward practicality. Using subtle juxtaposition by mixing simple form with complex detail, the collection resonates with underlying warmth and familiarity. Influenced by the classicism of early 20th century architecture, Eileen Gray and the haute couture of fashion icon Yves St. Laurent, Jeton reflects chic sensibility and sophisticated presence of line to complement traditional and contemporary interiors.
Following on the heels of his widely acclaimed earlier collections for Kallista, Michael S Smith introduced Inigo in 2008, its sensual curves and complex details inspired by the architectural aesthetic of Mediterranean design. Smith worked closely with Kallista, taking Inigo from paper to reality in just under two years. What resulted is an unexpected collection of intrinsic beauty and uncompromising quality.
Speaking to traditional or contemporary settings, the forms elevate even the most ordinary space to a luxurious escape. Currently Inigo offers a white carrara marble console table with finish-matched metal legs, basin and bath set fitted with lever handles, wall-mount showerhead, 24-inch towel bar, towel ring, tissue holder, and robe hook.
Vir Stil® Collection
The Vir Stil Collection designed by multi-disciplinary designer, Laura Kirar, is the first commercial plumbing venture for this celebrated and versatile young designer. The modern forms and clean lines present an interesting contrast to traditional Kallista offerings, with a minimal but refined design style inspired by a variety of historical time periods from the Bauhaus to the Danish Modern and even Japanese design.
Vir Stil® Minimal Collection
Offering an undecorated interpretation of the original fluted design, Kallista also offers a seamless, non-fluted style option available in the entire Vir Stil bathroom faucet collection. The modern forms and clean lines of the Vir Stil collection for Kallista present an interesting contrast to the existing, more traditional Kallista offering, appealing to a large part of the community of designers and consumers who lean towards a minimal but refined design style. The inspiration for this collection references a variety of historical time periods from the Bauhaus to the Danish Modern and even Japanese design. Vir Stil Minimal basin sets are complemented by coordinating bath sets, showering components and accessories.
Originally introduced in 2005, with additions to the collection over the past four years, Tuxedo by Barbara Barry was inspired by the inherent beauty of antique sterling flatware. The pieces reflect the understated, classic sophistication synonymous with Barry designs, with a timeless sensibility that is equally at home in modern environments or appointing a classic tile-and-marble bathroom.
The collection includes deck-mounted basin sets and deck- and wall-mounted bath sets, showerhead, deck mounted handshower, bidet, thermostatic and pressure balance showering valves, and a choice of classic, cross and streamline metal handles, and black and linen reeded resin handles. In 2008, a new console table with choice of two marbles, pedestal lavatory, sconce and mirror joined the collection, all appropriately scaled to accommodate the smaller footprint of an intimate power room.
Barbara Barry also designed the Kallista Glamour collection, a series of bathroom fixtures crafted in sparkling mirror and hand-honed black granite. Taking her cues from the elegance of 1940s Hollywood, the forms feature soft curvaceous design lines create an air of femininity. Ebony or Ivory resin faucet handles and other jewelry like touches complete the air of sensual bliss.
Glamour includes an elegant mirrored vanity with black granite top, sumptuous bath and whirlpool, two-piece toilet with wood seat trimmed in silver, basin and deck-mounted bath sets, glazed undercounter basin, ceiling mounted showerhead, handshower, thermostatic and pressure balance valve controls, and mirrored medicine cabinet, mirror and wastebasket.
The Michael S Smith For Town Collection, created exclusively for Kallista, gains inspiration from the classic elegance of a 1930s Park Avenue apartment. Evoking the spirit of vintage bathrooms, this collection mixes a universally timeless look with hints of tradition and modernism. The collection’s versatility lies in its extreme attention to the finer details. Smith reinforces Kallista’s philosophy of creating timeless designs that take their cues from the classics of the past but are refined for today.
