May 2011

Kallista, a leading provider of luxury plumbing products, showcased some of its latest and most successful collections at HD Expo 2011 in Las Vegas to emphasize its broad design scope and ability to meet the diverse needs of the luxury hotelier. The collections range from its exclusive designs by world-renowned designers Bill Sofield, Michael S Smith, Barbara Barry, Laura Kirar, as well as featuring collections from its in-house Amédée collection and One™ collection.

Kallista’s sophisticated lines for the kitchen and bath represent 30 years of innovative design. Meticulously crafted from the finest materials and incorporating the very latest in engineering technology, Kallista provides a virtually limitless fashionable repertoire for the hospitality marketplace.

Amédée Collection
Introduced for the first time to Hospitality clientele, Kallista selected its 2011 Amédée collection of stone knobs to be featured at HD Expo 2011. Fashioned to complement the same brass faucet, showering and accessory base of the successful Baccarat Bambous crystal knobs, Amédée presents a beautiful alternative with an organic mix of fine stone handle options. These softly honed bell-shaped designs are handcrafted from white, honey or green onyx or chinchilla obsidian, a semi-precious material formed by volcanic sediment.

The collection’s sculpted, hand-polished faucets feature a gradual sloping spout that grows from a round metal base and paired with classic cross handles. Kallista utilizes the finest valves in all its faucets to ensure years of maintenance-free use. Featuring diamond-hard, ceramic discs, instead of conventional seat washers, assure that the installation will be leak-free even in the hardest water conditions. The faucets are offered in Brushed Nickel and Nickel Silver Kallista living finishes, which are designed to patina over time and wear naturally providing each piece with its own unique warmth and character.

Jeton™ Collection
Unveiled in 2009, the Jeton Collection designed by internationally renowned architect and designer, Bill Sofield, is his first commercial plumbing endeavor. The collection includes a vanity with choice of two marble tops, wall- and deck-mounted basin sets and bath sets, thermostatic and pressure balance showering systems, wall- and deck-mounted handshowers, showerhead, undercounter basin, sconce, towel bar, towel ring, hook and toilet paper holder.

Sofield approached his plumbing designs as he approaches any project -- incorporating aesthetic appeal with straightforward practicality. Using subtle juxtaposition by mixing simple form with complex detail, the collection resonates with underlying warmth and familiarity. Influenced by the classicism of early 20th century architecture, Eileen Gray and the haute couture of fashion icon Yves St. Laurent, Jeton reflects chic sensibility and sophisticated presence of line to complement traditional and contemporary interiors.

For Town
The Michael S Smith For Town Collection, created exclusively for Kallista, gains inspiration from the classic elegance of a 1930s Park Avenue apartment. Evoking the spirit of vintage bathrooms, this collection mixes a universally timeless look with hints of tradition and modernism. The collection’s versatility lies in its extreme attention to the finer details. Smith reinforces Kallista’s philosophy of creating timeless designs that take their cues from the classics of the past but are refined for today.

Vir Stil® Collection
The Vir Stil Collection designed by multi-disciplinary designer, Laura Kirar, is the first commercial plumbing venture for this celebrated and versatile young designer. The modern forms and clean lines present an interesting contrast to traditional Kallista offerings, with a minimal but refined design style inspired by a variety of historical time periods from the Bauhaus to the Danish Modern and even Japanese design.

Tuxedo™ Collection
Originally introduced in 2005, with additions to the collection over the past four years, Tuxedo by Barbara Barry was inspired by the inherent beauty of antique sterling flatware. The pieces reflect the understated, classic sophistication synonymous with Barry designs, with a timeless sensibility that is equally at home in modern environments or appointing a classic tile-and-marble bathroom.

The collection includes deck-mounted basin sets and deck- and wall-mounted bath sets, showerhead, deck mounted handshower, bidet, thermostatic and pressure balance showering valves, and a choice of classic, cross and streamline metal handles, and black and linen reeded resin handles. In 2008, a new console table with choice of two marbles, pedestal lavatory, sconce and mirror joined the collection, all appropriately scaled to accommodate the smaller footprint of an intimate power room.

Kallista’s One collection of sophisticated kitchen and bath products and accessories offer a wide range of options and components for most conceivable plumbing configurations. A new mirror and sconce were part of the One product featured at HD Expo 2011 line-up. Recognizing the value of timeless design, Kallista continues to explore new avenues in bath décor to reach out to a larger audience with products that translate effectively into residential and commercial applications.

Perfect Bath Collection
Rounding out the Kallista product line-up is the Perfect Small Rectangular Bathtub part of the Perfect Bath series of four designs that include Air Bath versions for each and all thoughtfully executed for the ultimate bathing experience. Built to accommodate drop-in or undermount installations, the baths feature minimal, classic lines to complement traditional and contemporary settings, fusing precise engineering and innovative design with comfort and elegance.

Unlike standard gel-coat tubs, the Perfect Bath Collection offers extra thick, seamless acrylic construction allowing for a smooth, uniform finish and rich color depth. The Perfect Air Baths offer 122 air jets precisely positioned to immerse the bather in a complete body air massage. A remote control with three-zone control and multi-function key pad allows the bather to control his or her environment with a touch, providing the ultimate in functionality and customization. Sensors activate an automatic cycle to remove residual water from the air channels when drained for convenience and continual maintenance. Remote pump location provides installation options depending on access preference.

Offered in Kallista’s standard colors of Stucco White or Linen, the Perfect Bath features innovative, integrated shapes providing graceful sloped sides and side overflow for luxurious comfortable bathing. The Perfect Baths are fitted with a solid brass Kallista Cable Drain or Flip Drain option in contemporary and traditional overflow hoods, and are available in Kallista’s Chrome, Nickel Silver, Brushed Nickel, Gunmetal, Antique Bronze and Bronze finish options.

Plié™ High-Efficiency Toilets
Presenting an alternative, attractive option for the home that blends well with any Kallista collection, the Plié High-Efficiency Toilet is a two-piece toilet that creates a chic silhouette perfect for contemporary settings. The curvilinear lines are deliberate and controlled, juxtaposed by contoured surfaces for a supple feel. The oval seat features slow-close hinge technology. The base has a flat back that sits flush to a wall and a smooth surface for effortless cleaning. Watersense listed, the top-mounted flushing mechanism is cast from solid brass and offers two flushing options, 1.0 gpf and 1.6 gpf, which exhibits Kallista’s continuing commitment to water conservation.
