April 2010

Kallista, a leading provider of luxury plumbing products, unveiled two new high-efficiency toilets and new bathroom lighting at the 2010 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago.  The new pieces expand Kallista’s offering of classic, well-designed “foundational” fixtures to anchor a variety of sophisticated bathroom designs.

Presenting an alternative, attractive option for the home that blends well with any Kallista collection, this cross-over design idea began in 2008 with the first Perfect Bathtub, which was expanded in 2009 with three additional tub and air bath designs.  The new toilets and sconce are the next installation in support of this important Kallista initiative.

The toilets also represent Kallista’s continuing commitment to water conservation.  High efficiency toilets utilize less water during each flush without compromising performance.  These toilets deliver an extraordinary combination of water conservation, flushing performance and beautiful design with savings of up to 3,200 gallons of water per year over the industry standard 1.6 gpf models.

Plié™ and  Bridgeton™ High-Efficiency Toilets
The new Plié is a two-piece toilet that creates a chic silhouette perfect for contemporary settings.  The curvilinear lines are deliberate and controlled, juxtaposed by contoured surfaces for a supple feel. The oval seat features slow-close hinge technology.  The base has a flat back that sits flush to a wall and a smooth surface for effortless cleaning.  Watersense listed, the top-mounted flushing mechanism is cast from solid brass and offers two flushing options, 1.0 gpf and 1.6 gpf.

Balancing the modern, sensual lines of Plié is Bridgeton, a traditional form that utilizes the classic, soft lozenge shape popularized in mid-20th century bathroom design.  The two-piece toilet design features a tank appointed with a solid brass, side-mounted trip lever and a single flush option of 1.28 gpf.  Its elliptical seat has slow-close hinge technology and like its counterpart, the Bridgeton, is Watersense listed.

Classic Cylinder Wall Sconce
Rounding out the foundational pieces introduced at KBIS is the Classic Cylinder Wall Sconce, a timeless silhouette designed to complement traditional and transitional settings.  Breathtaking in its simplicity, the lamp frame, back plate and interior components are all cast from solid brass and finished in Chrome, Nickel Silver, Brushed Nickel, or Antique Bronze, its reflective quality both drawing and reflecting light.  Suspended from the frame is a frosted glass shade that carries almost the length of the backplate and provides soft, ambient light.
