Kallista, a leading manufacturer and designer of high end bath and kitchen designs, collaborated with internationally recognized designer, Barbara Barry, to expand its highly successful Tuxedo collection.  Released and available for purchase are a new console table, a pedestal lavatory, and a mahogany framed mirror, completing the bath suite in exquisite detail.

The Tuxedo collection of faucets was introduced in 2005, and expanded in 2006 creating a succinct compilation of bath and shower products, including complementing accessories and sconce.
The new pieces reflect the collection’s understated, classic elegance by maintaining the tailored, modern approach found in the earlier forms.  Its quiet sophistication complements commercial and residential applications with a timeless sensibility equally at home in modern environments or appointing a classic tile-and-marble bathroom.

Adding new dimension to the collection is the chic Tuxedo Console Table, which is scaled to accommodate the smaller footprint of an intimate powder room, yet has the presence to command attention in larger master suites whether as a singular installation or paired for a dramatic design statement.  The two-inch thick, beveled edge console top has a slight backsplash with squared corners and sweeping cutaway sides and an accommodating working surface.  The expertly hand-cut top is executed from a single length of marble, gently honed to achieve its soft hand.  Two marbles were selected for the collection: Calacatta Oro, its pure white marble field richly veined in gold; or Crema Marfil, a tone-on-tone shades-of-cream marble with spidery caramel veining.  The console is supported by four brass legs joined by a single front towel bar and offered in a choice of Chrome, Brushed Nickel or Nickel Silver finishes.  If preferred, the console base is also available in a two legged version.

Also complementing the current line is the Tuxedo Pedestal Lavatory.  Standing at a comfortable width of 33-13/16 inches, the lavatory top is flawlessly executed, and features a generous working surface that surrounds a softly curved basin shaped to create a delicate X, a signature motif found in many of Barry’s designs.  In smart juxtaposition is the slightly flared round pedestal base, its sensuous, seamless form interrupted by a top and bottom bead detail.

An impressive 24x35-inch mirror brings a touch of jewelry to the collection.  The handcrafted, octagonal mahogany wood frame features a unique eight corner design, its scalloped facets surrounding a slightly raised crystal clear beveled mirror.  Offered in Barry’s classic Java finish, the mirror is also offered in the deep Ebonized Mahogany finish, new to Kallista and created specifically for this collection.
