KALLISTA® FEATURES FOUR DISCRIMINATING FAUCET DESIGNS AT HD BOUTIQUE 2010
Kallista, a leading provider of luxury plumbing products, featured four basin sets at HD Boutique 2010 held at the Miami Beach Convention Center on September 14 and 15, 2010. Showcased were the in-house designed Bellis™ and One™, Counterpoint by Barbara Barry, and Jeton™ by Bill Sofield.
The faucets are all equipped with a 1.5 gpm laminar flow aerator instead of the higher industry standard 2.2 aerator, making it an ecologically considerate choice. Kallista utilizes the finest valves in all its faucets to ensure years of maintenance-free use. Featuring diamond-hard, ceramic discs instead of conventional seat washers assure that the installation will be leak-free even in the hardest water conditions. Kallista faucets are offered in a range of living finishes, a trademark finish designed to patina over time and wear naturally providing each piece with its own unique warmth and character.
Representing Barry’s fourth commercial plumbing line for Kallista, Counterpoint offers multiple products for a wide range of installations. Inspired by the elegance and simplicity of modern design, Counterpoint reflects Barry’s signature chic sensibility and sophisticated presence of line.
Featuring the deck-mounted bath set, the collection also includes a console with marble top, lighted medicine cabinet, sconce, thermostatic and pressure balance showering systems, volume control valve and three-way transfer valve systems, wall-mounted hand shower, showerhead, 24-inch towel bar, hook, and toilet paper holder.
The basin set offers a choice of two style handles, Statuary White stone lever and knob handles, and hand-cast brass lever and knob handles and offered in Chrome, Brushed Nickel, or Nickel Silver Kallista living finishes.
The Jeton collection designed by internationally renowned architect, and interior designer, Bill Sofield, was inspired by such diverse influences as the classicism of early 20th century architecture, Eileen Gray and the haute couture of fashion icon Yves St. Laurent. Representing Sofield’s first commercial plumbing line, the Jeton collection is a complete bath suite that offers multiple components for a wide range of installations. The collection includes a vanity with choice of two marble tops, wall- and deck-mounted basin sets and bath sets, thermostatic and pressure balance showering systems, wall and deck-mounted handshowers, showerhead, undercounter basin, sconce, towel bar, towel ring, hook, and toilet paper holder.
Sofield incorporated aesthetic appeal with straightforward practicality giving the collection meaning and substance. There is subtle juxtaposition within the designs, mixing simple form with complex detail and resonating with underlying warmth and familiarity. The multi-faceted faucet and handle design was approached much the way that jewelry is cut in order to achieve maximum reflection, eliminating the need for overt ornamentation. The faucets offer deck- or wall-mount versions with lever and T-shaped handle options.
Completing the collection is a new Black Nickel finish. This unique finish has a black-to-silver mirrored effect, the deep black broken by a metallic shimmer creating a compelling play of shadow and light. The introduction of Black Nickel brings seven hand-crafted living finishes to the existing Kallista offering.
Classic styling with a series of options to address personal taste, Bellis offers basin sets with two spout and handle designs. Shown at HD Boutique was the minimal Traditional design, with a conservative, straightforward silhouette, squared spout and understated flared base and bonnet. In contrast is Noble, a curvaceous form with bell-shaped handle bonnet and faucet base that flank a rounded spout that gently flairs at the end.
A stylized take on cross and lever handles add to the collection’s charm. The lever handles are slightly raised from the bonnet top and ergonomically designed to bow in fitting the hand comfortably. The cross handles’ four prongs use a similar, inverted bow design giving the handles personality and definition. Bellis is available in Chrome, Nickel Silver, and Brushed Nickel Kallista living finishes.
