KOHLER, Wis. (February 13, 2008) – Kallista, a leading provider of luxury plumbing products, featured the Vir Stil console lavatory at the 2008 International Builders Show in Orlando, Fla. Designed by multi-disciplinary designer, Laura Kirar, the console incorporates clean, modern styling with efficient design elements to accommodate smaller spaces.

Kirar approached her designs for Kallista as she approaches any project, drawing from her professional and personal experiences and inspirations to build a livable collection filled with universal appeal and signature pieces of iconic stature. “These pieces express the things I love – perfection of line, beauty of material and superior craftsmanship,” said Kirar.

Her inspiration is based primarily in late 19th and early 20th century design, as well as period fashion, architecture, music, fine art, philosophy and culture. “As an artist, I am drawn to clean simple shapes, uniformity and proportion,” continued Kirar. “I am devoted to the quiet beauty of forms from the Vienna secessionists, Weiner Werkstatte, and the classicism of the city's Ringstrasse architecture.”

This latest wall mounted console design from Kirar continues the same understated beauty found throughout the Vir Stil collection. It features a hand-polished marble basin of cream veined in gray. The basin is nestled between two straight metal legs joined with an integrated towel bar before terminating to fluted feet. The console is offered in Chrome, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, and Bronze finishes.

The Vir Stil collection of kitchen and bath products was introduced to wide acclaim in 2005, with subsequent introductions in 2006 and 2007. Striving for authenticity and comfort, no area was left to chance, from the selection of materials and finishes to its impeccable craftsmanship and unsurpassed excellence in performance and technological advantage.

The designs encompass a lifestyle collection of kitchen and bath products, offering bath and shower faucets, console and pedestal lavatories and complementing faucets, two vanities, two mirrors, a bath cart, and a range of bath accessories and lighting. “It is my hope that the simple elegance of the collection reveals itself over time,” concluded Kirar.
